1. Active Release Technique
This technique relieves you from adhesion formed after soft tissue injury. Adhesion is a natural consequence of the inflammatory process of tissue healing. Repetitive strain on injuries results in symptoms such as aching, burning, numbness and tingling.
Active Release Techniques (ART) is an effective approach to deal with acute and chronic tissue injuries like strains, sprain and tears.
We also treat our patients for adhesions formed due to micro-trauma, hypoxia, and friction between the tissues.
2. Acupuncture
Ottawa Physiotherapy & Sport Clinics provide acupuncture therapy in our patients in Orleans, Barrhaven and Westboro locations.
The process involves the insertion of tiny needles at specific points along the pathways or meridians of the body.
These pathways are believed to be energy channels through which energy flows through the body.

3. Ottawa Aquatherapy & Back Pain Treatment
Aquatherapy uses the unique property of water to treat conditions with the impact that can't be reproduced on the land.
The aquatic therapy of pool therapy offered by Ottawa Physiotherapy & Sport Clinics consists of an exercise program performed in the water with one of our Ottawa registered massage therapy from one of our three locations.
The buoyancy of water provides support to the weight of the patient and lightens the stress on the joint. This therapy helps with performing exercises to strengthen muscle groups, decreasing swelling, relaxing muscles, and increasing blood flow to injured areas.
4. Athletic Performance Evaluation for All Sports
Our athletic performance evaluation (APE) program consists of several tests to establish a baseline for athletic activities.
Under this program, we provide athletes and help them implement personalized training regimes to improve the areas of athletic performance. The training regimen is designed based on the test results, request of the athlete or the attributes generally accepted for a given sport.
5. Chronic Pain

6. Custom knee bracing
Ottawa Physiotherapy & Sport Clinics offer custom knee bracing for people with ligamentous knee injuries and osteoarthritis (OA).
The custom knee bracing provides pain relief for OA sufferers and reduces the weight on the affected knee compartment.
The unloader braces are shown to diminish pain, increase walking tolerance and provide better function.
7. Custom Orthotics - Foot Specialists Ottawa, ON
Certain imbalances in the muscles of the feet develop due to the wrong standing and walking posture.
These imbalances can cause pain in feet, knees, hips, back and/or neck leading to discomfort and poor function.
Custom orthotics are devices which are inserted into footwear to support or correct your foot function. It decreases pain that stems from the imbalance and increases the stability of the joints.
8. Registered Nutritionist and Dietitian Ottawa
Our dietitians and nutritionist are experts in the science behind food and your body.
We avoid recommending general diet plans to our clients as one plan can't fit all.
Our dietitians create custom plans and provide ongoing support to tweak the diet plan according to the desired results.

9. Dizziness and Vertigo

10. Ergonomic Assessments
We examine the relationship between the worker and their environment. An ergonomic environment allows the worker to stay at the top of their health and productivity.
We do a workstation evaluation and identify the potential hazardous working conditions. Generally, it takes 1 hour for the evaluation.
11. Yoga (Orleans location only)
Orleans Yoga is designed for people of all ages and physical abilities.
Both beginner and advanced yoga practitioners can enjoy the benefits of this yoga class.
Yoga relieves stress and tension from the body and calms the mind. It's also excellent for increasing flexibility, enhancing balance and restoring strength.
The yoga postures can be designed to be easily performed by first-time yoga practitioners.
12. Intramuscular Stimulation Ottawa
Muscles become shortened due to pressure or irritation on the nerves.
The shortening causes a neuropathic pain which becomes difficult to detect by X-rays, CT's or MRI's.
Opposed to anti-inflammatory medications which may provide only short term relief, IMS treatment can effectively cure this condition.
The procedure involves the insertion of Acupuncture needles for its therapeutic effects.
The process is fully mechanical and doesn't require the use of electricity.
13. Manual & Manipulative Therapy
When stretching and massage alone can't improve the condition of the joints, we use Manual & Manipulative therapy.
Ottawa Physiotherapy & Sport Clinics offer "hands-on" therapy to manipulate and mobilize painful joints. We treat a variety of conditions caused by injuries, arthritis, swelling of muscles, strain, sprain, etc.
The therapists use a range of slow and fast movements to improve the range of motion. The manipulation of the joints is limited to professionals with advanced training.
14. Massage Therapy
Massage therapy is the manipulation of soft tissues such as skin, tendons and joints of the body. Ottawa massage therapy provides an effective release from stress by loosening your muscles and sedating or stimulating your nerves.
Massage therapy has a variety of therapeutic benefits such as improved blood and lymphatic circulation, increased immunity and elevated mood.
15. Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy is used to treat a variety of musculoskeletal problems. Our physiotherapist will assess you for your muscle flexibility, strength and joint movement and other special tests.
The treatment will be tailored to your specific needs and involves the use of physiotherapy, joint mobilization and manipulation and corrective exercises.

16. Postoperative Treatment
Ottawa Physiotherapy & Sport Clinics provide post-surgical rehabilitation to speed up the recovery process and get you back to your full capacity as soon as possible.

18. Running evaluation
Ottawa Physiotherapy & Sport Clinics conduct a running evaluation for both professionals and hobby runners. The evaluation is based on two sessions and helps you to maximize your running distance and speed while minimizing the chances of injury.
The sessions include a review of injury and running history information, one-on-one interview, physical assessment, and biochemical and technical evaluation.
The overall assessment is completed in two sessions.
