How Does Physiotherapy In Orleans

To begin treatment, you will set up an initial appointment with an Orleans physio. Your physiotherapist will start by listening to you and asking questions about your specific ailments.  This will allow the Orleans physio to get an idea of your core issues and evaluate their severity. To begin your journey to recovery and book your initial session, contact the Ottawa Physiotherapy and Sport Clinics, your specialists in physiotherapy today!

Once your evaluation is complete, your therapist will draw up a treatment plan for your physiotherapy. This treatment plan will include in-office and at-home exercises that are designed to alleviate your pain and mobility issues, and improve your balance, endurance, and comfort.

Most treatment plans follow a three-step approach. The first step of Orleans physiotherapy treatment plans is focused on pain relief. This may include, for example, massages or acupuncture, as well as theoretical advice like correcting your posture, so you can alleviate the pain in your everyday life.

Once that is achieved, your physio treatment plan enters the next phase, namely strengthening the affected area. This stage often includes stretching and light physical exercise that focuses on the affected area.

The last stage of your physio treatment plan will focus on improving the mobility and functionality of the affected area and integrating it correctly again into your daily, natural movements.

Aside from the physical exercises, physiotherapy in Orleans also includes a theoretical education, including maintaining the correct posture, nutritional advice, and how to avoid injury.

Again, this is just a general outline of the three approaches. However, since no two patients are ever alike, your treatment plan will always be customized to your individual needs. Whether yours is longer or shorter in duration, more or less demanding – you can rest assured that your physiotherapy is designed to provide you with the best, lasting relief possible!

Frequently Asked Questions About Orleans Physio Therapy

What Does a Physiotherapist Do for You?

Physiotherapists help clients of all ages improve their ability to move and function, whether clients are recovering from injury or adapting to a disability. They use a variety of treatment methods to address patients' challenges, maintain fitness and boost mobility.

What Happens During an Orleans Physiotherapy Session?

Based on the assessment and diagnosis, physiotherapists will design a personalized treatment plan. Each physiotherapy Orleans session is tailored to meet your individual needs and may include treatment for pain relief, injury rehabilitation, illness management, and education about how to stay healthy and avoid injury.

How Much Does Physiotherapy Cost In Orleans?

Your initial physiotherapy visit costs $120. Every subsequent visit is $100. Please note that our treatments are unfortunately not covered under OHIP. We would therefore recommend making sure to check with your individual insurance provider before your initial visit to see whether your treatment will be covered under your personal health care plan. Also, note that only a couple of insurance providers currently allow us to bill them directly.

How Can Physiotherapy Help Me?

Physiotherapy can help you by treating the root problem of your musculoskeletal issues. The kind of physiotherapeutic treatment you receive will depend on the nature of your issue. For example, ultrasound may be used to treat swelling, while electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) is commonly used to strengthen muscles. However, the kind of treatment depends on the nature of your problems – so will the duration of your treatment. In general, the sooner you begin treatment, the higher the chances are for a quick recovery.

What Are Functional Tests In Physiotherapy?

Functional tests are part of the basics of physiotherapy. In very simple terms, functional tests evaluate a patient’s level of functionality and their ability to perform certain movements. For example, your physiotherapist may assess the flexibility and range of movement of your shoulders at the beginning of your treatment. As time moves on and the treatment progresses, the flexibility of your shoulders during those functional tests will ideally increase.

What To Wear For Physiotherapy?

As the name already indicates, there is a physical aspect to physiotherapy. You may therefore want to stick to loose and comfortable clothes. You will need to be able to move your joints, your shoulders, and your spine freely so your physiotherapist can assess your mobility. As a result, make sure to avoid restrictive clothing such as jeans, button-up shirts, suits, or the like. If your workplace requires a certain dress code and you schedule an appointment coming from or going to work, make sure to bring comfortable clothes. You can change in our clinics.

What Is Physiotherapy Rehabilitation?

Physiotherapy is part of a wholesome physical rehabilitation strategy. Whether you are recovering from surgery, are dealing with recurring back pain, or suffering from chronic illnesses such as rheumatoid arthritis – physiotherapy can help you in the process of overcoming (or at least controlling) those issues and improving the overall quality of your life. The individual duration of treatment though depends on the nature and severity of the ailment at hand.

What Do They Do In Physiotherapy?

The overall goal of physiotherapy is to restore or maintain the patient’s mobility and therefore contribute to their overall well-being. This is achieved in several ways, for example through muscle massage, physical exercise, and with the help of specialized equipment for ultrasound, electrotherapy, and other forms of treatment. Which forms of therapy are considered will depend on your individual issues. After the initial assessment, your physiotherapist will develop a custom treatment plan for you.

What Is Physiotherapy For Back Pain?

Chronic back pain is one of the most common issues faced by our physiotherapists. As a result, we are very well versed in dealing with back issues and offering pain relief. Our experienced physiotherapists will help you by assigning you exercises that will strengthen your back, treat the affected area with stretching and strengthening exercises, and offer practical advice to help you prevent your issues from worsening in the future. Do not hesitate to contact us today if you are suffering from chronic back pain!
