Alexa Beehler
Registered PhysiotherapistAlexa is a Registered Physiotherapist who graduated from the University of Ottawa with a Master of Health Science in Physical Therapy. Upon graduation, she was the recipient of the Orthopedic Excellence Award (by the Canadian Physiotherapy Association), awarded to the student deemed to be the highest ranked student based on a combination of the candidate’s demonstration of exceptional leadership, advocacy, and interest in orthopaedics. After pursuing her education in French, she prides on offering fully bilingual services to her patients. Prior to this, she completed a Bachelors degree in Human Kinetics.
Alexa is passionate about bringing a fun approach to rehabilitation, with a smile and laughter, tailored to specific individual needs. She is certified in Level 1 for the Advanced Integrated Musculoskeletal (AIM) Physiotherapy Program, and has taken subsequent courses including Running and Exercise Principles. She will continue learning up to date techniques through the orthopaedic level system, and pursue pelvic floor, vestibular rehabilitation and dry needling programs.
With past sporting experience in hockey, provincial rugby, soccer, and softball, Alexa knows first hand the challenges of overcoming multiple injuries and the role of physiotherapy, and early rehabilitation on getting you back faster to what you love best. Most importantly, she values treatment based on patient education, to guide you towards a life where you take control back on your own body.
When not working at our Barrhaven and Orleans locations, Alexa enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing outdoor games, playing music, camping, and strength training.
