Andre Doucette
Registered PhysiotherapistAndré is a bilingual Registered Physiotherapist who graduated from the University of Ottawa with a Master of Health Science in Physiotherapy, and had previously graduated from Université de Moncton in New Brunswick with a Bachelor of Health Science in Kinesiology in 2019 with Honours. André is interested in orthopedics and manual therapy and has completed his level 1 Manual Therapy and an exercise prescription workshop. He plans to continue professional development including manual therapy courses, dry needling/acupuncture, concussion, exercise prescription and keeping up to date with the latest research evidence in the practice of physiotherapy. Prior to coming to Ottawa, André has spent many hours volunteering at a cardiac clinic with elderly patients and had also spent time volunteering to help train paraplegic athletes that had previously placed in the Canada Games. He is comfortable treating a wide variety of the population and strives to give each patient the quality of care they need.
André is a strong believer in giving his patients the tools they need to get better and making individualized treatment plans for each patient, while complimenting this with manual therapy so they can go back to doing the things they love. As treatments, he uses a combination of education, manual therapy, exercise prescription and modalities as needed.
André is from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia and being a “Maritimer”, loves to talk about the East Coast with clients and loves to do some fishing in his spare time during the summer. Some of his other hobbies include performing maintenance on vehicles, lifting weights, cooking and some recreational sports including volleyball, badminton and golf.
