Dimitri Beaulieu
Registered PhysiotherapistDimitri is a graduate of the Masters of Physiotherapy program from the University of Ottawa, having completed his degree in 2021. Prior to this, he graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Ottawa in 2019 after completing a research thesis in spinal cord development and tissue regeneration. Dimitri is fluently bilingual, with a keen interest in orthopedics, musculoskeletal, neuromuscular dysfunction and sports injuries. He has completed several courses including Level 2 Manual Therapy – Upper Quadrant (Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy), Level 1 – Hip Assessment and Treatment and Level 1 - Exercise Principles; Meridian Health: Acupuncture and Dry Needling; Carol Kennedy’s Exercise Prescription for Cervical Spine Dysfunction. Dimitri plans to further pursue continued education courses, including rehabilitation of vestibular and TMJ dysfunction, running evaluations and further completion of the AIM level system for Manual Therapy.
Dimitri has deep ties to the Barrhaven and Nepean communities, having grown up in the area, and being a Lifeguard and Swimming Instructor from 2013-2017 at multiple local pools. Dimitri developed an interest in aquatics while swimming competitively with the Kingfish club from 2010-2013. Through his swimming and lifeguarding career, Dimitri has been a Physiotherapy patient for his own sports-related injuries and has a very good understanding of the rehabilitation process. He also has interest in many other sports, namely mountain biking, water-polo, golf, skiing (cross-country and alpine), and rock climbing, while also enjoying participating in several others.
With a background in biomedical research and aquatics, Dimitri believes in a very active and evidence-based approach to physical rehabilitation using a patient-centered model of care that is tailored to each individual’s needs. He strongly believes in creating an individualized program with a combination of manual therapy, exercise and patient education to encourage self-management through a better understanding of the body in motion. Dimitri has experience working with people in all walks of life from pediatric to geriatric with an interest in promoting the joy of movement and helping each person achieve their mobility goals.
Dimitri is currently working at our Barrhaven location and is accepting new patients looking to recover from pain, injury or to improve upon their physical mobility.
