Genevieve O'Connor
Registered PhysiotherapistGeneviève is a fluently bilingual physiotherapist, having completed her Masters of Physiotherapy at the University of Ottawa in 2012. She also holds an undergraduate degree in Health Sciences from the same university.
Geneviève began her career in neurological physiotherapy, treating individuals with spinal cord and brain injuries, stroke, MS, Parkinsons and neuropathy. Working in neurology has taught her to think outside of the box to restore function, mobility and independence.
Geneviève is interested in musculoskeletal injuries, persistent pain and post-concussion syndrome, and enjoys working with children and adults alike. Geneviève believes that client education and participation are especially important in ensuring good treatment outcomes. Her approach combines manual therapy, acupuncture and exercise.
Geneviève values lifelong learning and takes courses regularly to improve her skill set. She is continuing her education through the Canadian Orthopaedic Division and has obtained her Level 3, Upper Extremity. She is trained in the Mulligan Concept and the McGill Method and has also taken courses in acupuncture, myofascial release and shoulder, neck and concussion rehabilitation.
Geneviève enjoys cycling, cross-country skiing, playing soccer and going to the gym. She is passionate about what she does and would love to help you reach your rehabilitation goals at the Orléans location.
