Martin Primeau, PARTNER
OPTSC team member since 2014Martin is a registered physiotherapist with an extensive background in orthopaedic injuries caused from sports, work, motor vehicle accidents and other activities and/or pathologies. He also has a keen interest for biomechanics, exercise physiology, and motor control.
Martin graduated with honours from an undergraduate degree in Human Kinetics from the University of Ottawa in 2012. In 2014, he obtained his Masters degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Ottawa and completed a Masters of Advanced Health Care Practice specializing in Manipulative Therapy (MClSc) from the University of Western in 2018. Furthermore, Martin is also a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT), is a Certified Exercise Physiologist with the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology (CSEP-CEP) and is a certified intramuscular stimulation (Gunn-IMS) medical practitioner from the University of British Columbia. He has taken several post-graduate courses in Functional Dry Needling, vestibular rehabilitation, concussion management, temporomandibular joint dysfunctions (TMJ) and is also a Registered Mentor with the Orthopaedic Division or the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.
Martin has had the opportunity to work and volunteer with various professional and amateur sports teams in the community including the Atlético Ottawa (CPL), Cumberland Panthers (OVFL), Dukes Football (NCAFA) and with multiple local soccer teams. He has given several talks with The Running Room on injury prevention in runners.
Currently working at our Hunt Club and Manor Park locations, Martin is fluently bilingual and strongly believes in maintaining a balanced and active lifestyle. He strives in offering a quality service based on manual therapy, rehabilitation exercises and client education.
