Nick Antaya - Partner
OPTSC team member since 2009Nick graduated from the University of Ottawa with a Masters Degree in Physiotherapy in 2009, where he was awarded the Sheila Muir Webb award, a prize given to the graduating student with the best performance in clinical practice during the last year of studies. Prior to this, he had obtained his Undergraduate Honours Degree in Health Sciences from the University of Ottawa in 2007. Nick joined the Barrhaven Physiotherapy Clinic in 2009, and is well established in the community.
Highly interested in the fields of sports and orthopedic physiotherapy, Nick has also worked as a therapist in the QJFL (Quebec Junior Football League). He has completed his level 3 certifications in both the upper and lower quadrants from the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Therapy, and followed this by getting certified in Gunn Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS). He is also a running specialist, having completed the “New Trends in the Prevention of Running Injuries course, and offers running evaluations. Other clinical interests include Vestibular Rehabilitation, which treats conditions that cause dizziness and vertigo, such as BPPV, vestibular neuritis, labyrinthitis, and a variety of vestibular hypofunctions.
Living an active lifestyle, his true passion is long distance running. He is fluently bilingual and works at our Barrhaven location.
