Jay has a strong clinical interest in sports injury rehabilitation and enjoys working with athletes and active individuals to recover from injuries, improve performance, and safely return to sport and recreational activities.
His treatment approach combines hands-on therapy, movement assessment, exercise prescription, education, and functional rehabilitation to address the root cause of pain and dysfunction. He believes in empowering patients through education and collaborative goal setting to promote long-term recovery and injury prevention.
Jay has completed advanced training in the Mulligan Concept, Concussion Management through the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA), Dry Needling, Acupuncture, and Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) assessment and treatment. He utilizes a variety of evidence-based techniques to help patients improve mobility, reduce pain, and restore function.
His clinical practice focuses on the assessment and treatment of sports injuries, orthopaedic and musculoskeletal conditions, post-surgical rehabilitation, concussion management, vestibular disorders, TMJ dysfunction, chronic pain conditions, balance impairments, and motor vehicle accident injuries. He also has experience working with older adults, helping them maintain mobility, independence, and quality of life through individualized rehabilitation programs.
Jay has completed certification and training in Dry Needling for the upper and lower extremities, Dry Needling for headaches and cervicogenic conditions, Acupuncture, and TMJ management. He incorporates manual therapy techniques, including Mulligan Mobilization with Movement (MWM), joint mobilizations, soft tissue techniques, and therapeutic exercise into his treatment plans to optimize recovery and function.
In addition to musculoskeletal rehabilitation, Jay has experience conducting ergonomic and functional assessments, workplace injury rehabilitation, and return-to-work planning. He routinely performs gait and movement assessments to identify biomechanical factors contributing to pain, injury, and movement dysfunction, allowing him to develop targeted treatment strategies tailored to each individual's needs.
